🌿🌼 Happy National Gardening Day to all our green-thumbed friends and nature lovers! Today, we celebrate the breathtaking beauty and meticulous care of the gardens at Trentham over the years.
Gardening over the years and centuries have changed considerably. From onerous yet dazzling annual schemes with tender perennials, to the present day where plant selection is based more on sustainability in an ever changing climate. Our gardens have evolved and changed over the years too, going from a private estate to one that is open to visitors from far and wide.

🌲 Our Italian Garden began with a vision and has flourished beautifully. Over 80,000 perennials, featuring more than 400 different varieties were planted 20 years ago and spread across the 70 flower beds, creating a vibrant tapestry of colours and textures every season. We can`t wait se see what the next 20 years has in store for it with our new Italian Gardens Revisited project 😍
🌷 Trentham dazzles with over 1 million bulbs blooming each spring across the site.
🌾 In 1847, Head Gardener George Fleming had 58 people working in the Gardens.
🌿 Equipped with modern machinery and tools, we now have 13 gardeners at Trentham looking after the horticultural content in the gardens and shopping village - supported by a great team of volunteers and placements who pour love and care into every corner.
