I purchased this as my Cocker Spaniel Cooper has damaged the end of his tail from too much wagging. I manage to get it almost healed & then he will catch it again & the house looks like a crime scene all over again not to mention the pain & discomfort he feels. This harness & tail sleeve is a game changer, not only does it control the wagging at a lower level the padded sleeve helps minimise impact on hard surfaces which is key for 'happytail'. I used the size calculator to work out which size was best & ordered the small which fits perfectly with lots of adjustment to make it comfortable for him. I watched the video to see how to fit & connect the tail sleeve which was very useful & I fitted it with ease. Cooper has had it on for 5 days now & he is very happy wearing it & has not tried to chew it at all so it must be comfortable or I'm should he would of. Julie was extremely helpful ensuring that I got the correct size & the delivery was very quick. I'm so pleased with the service & more importantly the product hopefully this will mean Cooper can keep his tail rather than having to have surgery for a partial amputation. Highly recommended.

Delivers as promised! It will take many adjustments for the best fit but so worth the little bit of extra effort! No more crime scene blood splatter throughout the house. My dog wears the vest and tail saver without ant signs of discomfort Happy pup, happy mom!

I'm sending before and after pictures of Reeds fully healed "happy tail" and want to thank you for your patience and excellent customer service. After realizing this was really the only way to solve for happy tail syndrome and concluding I couldn't possibly put the harness together myself I called my brother-in-law who patiently studied the material and got the harness on my skirmy yellow lab. I mastered the tail wrap using the video and eventually could do it solo. It was challenging but we persisted - and alls well that ends well. Many thanks.

I can't express enough how wonderful this product has been for us. I was so sceptical when I ordered it but was at my wits end with cones of all shapes and sizes. My GSD had a wound on his tail and we could NOT keep him off it. The TailSaver is the only product that worked for him and I am so thankful. It took us about ten minutes to fit and get on properly but once it was on we haven't looked back. Our dogs tail is healing beautifully, he isn't running into walls or knocking anything over, he can eat and drink out of his bowls easily and play with all of his toys with absolutely no problem. 100% super recommended.

This morning I spent an hour fitting my St Bernard mix’s tail saver. It’s GREAT. He doesn’t seem to mind it at all, it keeps his tail from being both a weapon and a liability, and is keeping him from re-injuring it — he came to me with a bad case of happy tail that’s thankfully ALMOST healed. Great product, well designed. I really appreciated the careful fitting video.

I wish I found this sooner!! My Great Dane had a horrible case of happy tail. We tried an off brand of this product that created sores on his groin area and he ended up chewing through and biting through above the original spot even worse then the original spot. We purchased this hoping to save the tail and although it kept him from getting to his tail and helped protect it from hitting on anything and in general we did amputate half his tail. However we used this after amputation while he healed as well and was a life saver while he healed not to mess with the stitches! So although we didn't save his tail no fault to happy tail I truly am thankful for this product!! And believe it would have saved his tail if I gotten it earlier. In top of that Julie is amazing!! Thank you so much for this product!

K9 TailSaver® Set

My girl had an obsession with chasing her tail. She ended up nipping it and it caused a huge bump. We were told to wrap it to keep her from licking it & making it worse. We couldn’t get the wrap to stay on no matter how we wrapped it. & the wrap was also making it raw & worse. So as a desperate last resort we decided to try the happy tail saver & within days we saw sooo much improvement!! We didn’t wrap it so it was able to heal without her getting to it. We would put her cone on when we were at work, along with the happy tail saver. She seemed confused by it at first but she adapted fast. After a week of wearing it 24/7 she was able to only have it on when we left the house. We were at a loss of what to do and I think even our vet was stumped. So this product was our literal saving grace!! I was iffy at first because it’s not cheap but I wish we would’ve just gotten this from the beginning because we spent so much on different wraps and medications trying to find a solution. Happy tail or a chew up tail… I most definitely recommend this product!!

When hour 90 pound puppy lab/great pyrenees mix Accidentally busted her tail open. We didn't know what we were gonna do when the vet gave us a bill of over a thousand dollars for amputation, not to mention a couple hundred dollars of pain medication, antibiotics, and some type of sleeping medicine to get her back for the second time for a full analysis of the injury. We tried many different ways to wrap the tip of her tail. And everything failed until we came across this site. Although it was hard to get her in, it definitely was a 3 person job. It has made such a great improvement on the healing process of the injury. We are so happy we were able to find this until we can save up for the amputation. Not only has it saved us time
and stress of cleaning up blood from around the house. But we know that the dog's tail is not infected and is healing properly while being restricted, so it does not reopen.

This started with my pup chasing his tail….then he caught it…from there it was just a vicious cycle. I could not get it to heal…he kept hitting it on everything , and then he would lick it open when it began to heal. I tried bitter apple spray, no chew tape, second skin spray….you name it! Then I found the K9 Tail saver! I figured what the heck…it was worth a try. My vet basically told me the next step would be amputation of the tail! I did not want that! It was a little tricky to set up, but once you get it adjusted you’re set. I would recommend getting a second tail piece so you can switch it out and wash it. I have thrown the whole thing in the washer and dryer with out any problems. This truly saved my pups tail! So grateful I found it , and highly recommend it! My pup didn’t seem to have an issue with it on. I got very good at unhooking the strap from around the tail for potty breaks. Can not stress enough ….this product saved my pups tail!

3 Years ago our great dane ( 172 pounds ) cut open her tail while she had one of her happy tail moments. ( all day every day ). we went to the vet and they taped her tail up so that the cut could heal . well on the car ride home. Pebbles got the wrap off and made the cut worse. this took us on a journey looking for a solution to let her tail heal without her getting to it. after about $300.00 loater and countless failed attemps, we found this company call K9 Tail Saver . So we called and had a hour long talk with them and found the right tail save for our Great Dane. with a few problems ( on our part ) we worked together and got things right. Today we still use the tail save and after many months of use things are still working great. Pebbles DOES NOT GET TO HER TAIL WHEN IT IS HEALING ! this company is always improving their product and all i can say is they ROCK! Our vet loves the tail save and has it in his office . THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR DANES LIFE AND OURS BETTER !

We adopted our shelter pup who unfortunately suffered from happy tail. I tried many things to wrap her tail to prevent her happy tail from getting worse, but everything failed. Since she has worn the TailSaver, her tail looks so much better! I was really worried about her chewing on the TailSaver or not being able to tolerate it. She tolerates it so well and no chewing at all. I am very impressed with this product and it was well worth the money. This product saved us from possibly amputating her tail. I cannot thank you guys enough!

It does work when used correctly, but it was a journey. After two weeks it is starting to work.
I didn't put the harness on tightly enough, and I didn't cut the tail bag short enough, and I wrap it - not too tightly - in painters' tape because the tail kept slipping out, and I had to spray the wound antiseptic painkiller and I didn't use on the wag inhibitor strap or whatever they call it and I'm still not sure what to do with that last strap. But, finally, the dog is not spraying blood on my good clothes every time I walk past him.
It's a bit tricky, but it's the only thing that worked for a Dane mix puppy who had to have a wound on the tip of the tail debrided.
Also, it's the only the dog hasn't eaten.

I love this thing. It’s been a HUGE life saver. I have a male 90lb pitbull catahoula and I had two vets tell me I should probably amputate my dogs tail because it just kept busting open and he wouldn’t let me bandage it at all. It was just a little complicated getting fitted at first but the video really helped and it was worth taking a few extra steps than getting an amputation. Thankfully my dog hasn’t tried to chew it up despite being a very energetic dog but the cushion has protected it from reopening and the airy light material has kept it from getting infected. I only wish there was a waterproof version too but beggars can’t be choosers. I HIGHLY recommend trying this before amputation! I’ve even recommended to my vet now and she loved the idea.
