What others think about us

If you plan to go to Gettysburg don’t hesitate in choosing this hotel for your stay. This was our first time here and we had nothing but a positive experience.
We stayed in a king jacuzzi room. It was very spacious, very clean and nicely updated. We we extremely comfortable in our room.
The location can’t be beat.
Breakfast in the morning was much better than most. Waffles, French toast, omelets, scrambled eggs, ham and sausage and much more.
We look forward to our next stay in this hotel.

We always stay at the 1863 Inn when visiting Gettysburg. The Inn is within walking distance of the battlefield and some good places to eat. The staff is really friendly and very helpful when making reservations, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and, thanks to the staff, it's just like being at home. If you need a place to stay on your trip to Gettysburg, we highly recommend the Inn 1863.

CLEAN, spacious, comfortable room. Great location in the heart of downtown Gettysburg. Plenty of free, on-site parking. Walking distance to many destinations and activities. Lovely, well-kept facility. Situated right next to the (possibly haunted) Jennie Wade House. Best, freshest, possibly most diverse and expansive hotel continental breakfast I've ever had.  There was no bathtub, only a shower unit, in our room if that would matter to anyone too. Would GLADLY stay here again!!

Our stay was pleasant from check-in to check-out. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the details provided on the website such as exactly where each room is located. The entire hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was on the first floor in the rear of the main building. It was quiet and had everything that we needed, including multiple charging ports. Parking was ample and convenient. Breakfast included a variety of options that changed a bit each day. Gettysburg's attractions are at your doorstep here.

We only stayed overnight at 1863 Inn of Gettysburg but we found the staff to be very friendly, the rooms clean, all amenities working properly, comfortable beds, and great location. The bus tour we took is extremely close to the hotel as well as the entrance to the Gettysburg National Cemetery/Gettysburg National Military Park. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

This is one of the nicest places that I’ve ever stayed at, and I have stayed at a lot of places. It’s quaint and modern, both at the same time. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean. The entire staff is wonderful! They even have a scrumptious hot breakfast, recycling bins, laundry facilities, and the list goes on. They even love my traveling pet rabbits! I have stayed here before, and I look forward to staying there again. I give it a top rating of two rabbit ears up!!

My Sister and I stayed here on our short visit to Gettysburg. Our room was spacious, clean, quite and comfortable. Our view from the 4th floor looked over the historic town and the sunset was beautiful. The location is perfect. Close to restaurants, local retailers and the battle grounds. I highly recommend The 1863 Inn!

My sister and I stayed one night on a quick trip to Gettysburg. We received top notch service from start to finish! Our room was nicely furnished, and nicely cleaned. And, oh my goodness, breakfast is extra-ordinary for a hotel continental breakfast! Do not pass them by! I almost did because I usually book chains.

One of the best places I've stayed in Gettysburg. It was clean, comfortable beds and pillows and in a central location. Front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Free coffee in the lobby and free breakfast was a definite plus. Have stayed there before and will stay there again.

This establishment is centrally located near restaurants, shops, and historic area. The rooms have been updated and are CLEAN. Breakfast is delicious with a wide variety of hot and cold items. There is an outdoor pool. Pets are welcome for a fee. Great value. We stay here whenever we visit Gettysburg.

Very clean. Centrally located for the square as well as historical and shopping areas. Front desk staff is very friendly. Easy check in prior to time noted online. Breakfast is excellent with multiple choices. Seating large enough to accommodate many guests in the breakfast room. The parking gets a little tight especially if you have a larger vehicle but plenty of parking into lot next door.

Great stay. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. It’s a great location to town and battlefields. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was the best I have had in a hotel setting. I would definitely stay again.

First I want to say that we have been coming here for weekend stays for years. We love this hotel!! It is close to so many things that you can walk to. We normally come in March for my husband's birthday which is 2 days from St Patricks Day. Gettysburg is a great place for St Patrick's day and there is an Irish Pub right across the street! This year my brother and his wife joined us. When they got into their room they couldn't believe how large and clean everything was. My sister-in-law came straight over to our room to tell me how happy she was because she usually isn't a fan of staying in hotel rooms. She said she had never seen a bathroom in a hotel that spotless in her life! The front desk staff was professional and friendly as always!! The breakfast was really good with lots of choices for everyone! My brother who does travel for business commented that it was one of the nicest breakfasts at a hotel that he has seen.
