Sound the alarm! We are seeking a new designer to join our team.

This is IDEAL for these types of designers:

A) someone who has been through the freelance world but prefers stability with retail design

B) is interested in learning, you will be working side by side with Stems’ owner on Fridays. If you are in your first year or two of floristry with some basic fundamental experience we are considering training the right person

C) you are an experienced designer looking for part time work to supplement other work, again this is a role with reoccurring days Friday + Saturday each week with the option to fill in for our week day staff

*Base pay $18/hr + tips which average +$5 per hour. Total hourly ranges $23/hr.

*Opportunity for increase base pay to $20/hr after completions of internal design assessment after 3 months of employment. Total hourly $25/hr.

*Benefits include PTO, 401k match after employment probation period

*Continuing education and access to workshop materials from various floral design professionals

Happy pride month kickoff from our team here at Stems!

Our team is made up of a diverse cast of floral designers, with lots of queer love under our roof 💗As a “late blooming” queer person myself I find a new meaning to queer joy this year. The search for ourselves through authentic expansion is a lifelong journey. While I have the privilege of expanding in safety and lots of freedoms, I also feel the deep privilege I have as a straight passing white cis gendered queer person.

May we hold space and action for the liberation and safety for ALL queer people 🌈 especially Black and brown trans folks 🌈

🌸Go celebrate! Be safe! Indulge in yourself and continue to expand into the beautiful being you are 🌸

This weekend we are holding a fundraiser through or monthly Solidarity Sunday event to benefit @rainbowheightsclub. Come by, buy flowers and let’s support an initiative bringing so much care into the LGBTQIA+ community 💐

🌈Let’s kick off pride month right 🌈

What is Solidarity Sunday you ask? Launched back in 2020 we created a community event that supports nonprofits and mutual aid groups right here in New York City.

Sometimes the world can be overwhelming dire but we can’t give up hope. Our focus is to redirect energy in our direct community to create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

Each one of our staff members has chosen an organization that reflects work they admire and feel is contributing to a more just world.

How can you get involved? Easy? Buy flowers! That’s right, all the flowers, our labor and love is donated on top of your financial contributions for the bouquets. We donate 💯 of the proceeds each month.

We are offering 15 bouquets with a suggested donation of $40. Our goal is to donate at least $500 per event. Bouquets can be picked up Sunday May 5th while supplies last.

💐This month we are contributing to @rainbowheightsclub 💐

🌸Let’s weave in a flower shop 🌸

Next date is June 1st, tickets are live!

Have you ever wanted to learn weaving, but didn’t know where to start? Well then this class is the perfect way to get introduced to the process.

In this 3 hour in-person workshop, you will learn the basics of tapestry weaving from drafting a design, to setting up your loom and learning a variety of weaving techniques, then putting the finishing touches on your piece. Your instructor Jessie Mordine will also provide a presentation on tapestry weaving which includes some of its history, and some additional sources of inspiration.

An absolute SLAY by @fruitpunchfloral from this past weekend! When you give us freedom as designers you get unobstructed creativity. Trust is key in any relationship and especially important in creative fields.

We’ve worked for years to build trust by finding the best flowers, training our team through mutual education/workshops and diversified freelancing. The result is a space where designers can thrive by shared experience! How mentoring and expansive creative design can thrive 💐

This is a variation on the Showstopper design listed on our Fresh Flower menu, check it out to get a taste of what we can design at a range of budgets! Delivery is available Monday - Saturday 🚚
