We do not need to offer beginner or advanced classes because everyone can follow along using the weights that will challenge them. We demonstrate each exercise, guide you on what weights to use and then follow along with you throughout the workout. Lifting weights at LIFTONIC is effective

Working your muscles to full exhaustion is by far the most effective way to build muscle and strength. The technical term is Time Under Tension or (TUT). Cardiovascular type of activities such as running and swimming will improve your fitness but it won’t build muscle. That’s why 100% of our focus is lifting heavy weights. Only then will your muscles repair, get stronger, with a more toned body as a result.

  

What to expect during a LIFTONIC class

We have created an inclusive, no judgmental environment for you to lift from. Each participant gets their own weights bench, dumbbells and resistance bands. Our expert weight training instructors will help you get set up. Once class begins our instructors will demonstrate each and every exercise, showing you proper weightlifting technique, guiding you on what weights to use and then perform the moments with you as you follow along.

  

What exercises are in a LIFTONIC class?

We’re not trying to recreate the wheel. Basic weights training exercises such as Chest Press & Squats have been the basis of weight training programs for decades because they work. Forget all the fancy bells and whistles, at LIFTONIC we’ve simply selected and tweaked the most efficient weights exercises and combined them with complimentary body weight and resistance band exercises

Over this time we’ve develop and honed our weight training workout method. Based on the overarching idea that having more muscle mass and strength is key to reaching your fitness goals, we have created a series of weight training class formats that are fun, efficient and effective.

The most effective way to get toned is to build muscle and lose fat. That’s what weight training does. The more muscle you build and the more fat you lose the firmer and more toned you will be.

Have you ever lost weight by dieting and doing cardio only to find the weight return as soon as you stop? That is because weight loss is not the same thing as fat loss. Who cares about weight when you look and feel great? You will build muscle and lose fat with regular weight training classes which will help you maintain a healthy, stable weight.

We’ve got the entire lower Manhattan covered. Weight training classes right in the West Village, close to Chelsea and Greenwich Village and we just brought our weight training studio to the East Village right next to The Bowery, Lower East Side, Chinatown and Soho downtown NYC.

  

Motivation

We know it can be difficult to find the motivation to exercise. And weight training can be intimidating. Not at LIFTONIC! Our studio is filled with motivating music and our instructors will inspire you to challenge yourself in ways that you just can't do by yourself.

  

Education

Our instructors hold a nationally recognized certificate in group and personal training. Not only will they motivate you to lift heavier, they will also teach you proper weight training technique. Learn the correct weight training form that you can then take with you wherever you go.

  

Safety First

We use free weights so the exercises are more fluid and less dangerous than using Olympic Weightlifting bars. Our movements are much slower than a Bootcamp or High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class. Weight training is an efficient, safe, non impact workout

  

Injury Prevention

LIFTONIC classes are suitable even if you have existing injuries. In fact, weight training can bring back mobility and strength to your muscles to assist with the rehabilitation process. Our programming is split into different body parts so you can work around injures as needed and lift often.

  

Mental Health

Most forms of exercise are beneficial for your mental health. Weight training is no different. High intensity weight training also releases the same endorphins you get when going for a run or cycle. A routine with 3-4 weights workouts each week will make you mentally stronger.
