Living The Dream At The San Clemente Pier

The Oceanfront Hacienda is a historical Spanish villa that was built by San Clemente founder Ole Hanson in 1929, just one year after he officially established the city. His dream was that of a “Spanish Village by the Sea” and he built the Hacienda with that dream at the forefront of his mind.

The Hacienda has undergone major restoration by its owners to bring it back to its original grandeur and charm and it perfectly encapsulates the vision on which San Clemente was founded. Located right across from the San Clemente Pier, come stay with us and travel to another time and place as you enjoy the crashing waves and gorgeous sunsets of San Clemente!

Check Out Our Suites

Stepping into the Hacienda is like stepping into a slice of paradise. The quaint, lovingly restored suite oozes charm and authenticity. Waking up to the lullaby of waves and ending each day with the canvas of a breathtaking sunset right on your doorstep is truly exceptional. The patio offered a front-row seat to this serene spectacle. This hacienda offered everything you need to be comfortable along with the unique tranquility of beachfront living. I totally fell in love and will definitely be back!

This place is AMAZING! John, the owner, has done an incredible job restoring the space to the true Spanish hacienda style. Every single piece in the Sombrero suite was perfectly suited. The view is spectacular. Loved that the fireplace was wood burning and used it every night since it was in the low 50's. Bear Coast Coffee up the street has a lavender caramel latte that is to die for. We came up for my surfer husband's birthday and he loved being able to walk right down to the water. We absolutely loved it and will be back.

Beautiful space! Such a Tuscany vibe & hearing the waves crash all night was incredible. Very grateful to relax in this space!

The photos do not show the true beauty of this property and gorgeous coastal town. I just toured the west coast and San Clemente is my favorite. This is a beautifully decorated hacienda that anyone can have a memorable vacation at and I will be back! Karen is a great host who will make sure your stay at her hacienda is one to remember!

The Sombrero suite was great! It's kind of like staying in an authentic California mission. The furniture and decorations really give you the old world vibe. The location is fantastic! It's right across the street from the pier. I would highly recommend staying here.

This place was great! Photos are as advertised but to experience the calm and serenity, you must be here. Our private courtyard was both beautiful and peaceful. The check in process was easy and seamless and the host was very responsive and helpful. Located just across the street from the pier and beach! The space was so cozy…comfy bed and living room was very cozy! Will definitely be back here when we can stay longer!

Both John and his Hacienda are fabulous. John was very friendly. The views were amazing, location excellent and the ambiance inside was warm and welcoming. We felt like we went back in time which was perfect because we just wanted to stay together as a family uninterrupted by daily life. It was raining when we were there and we lit a fire in our fireplace and opened the window so we could hear the ocean, rain and fireplace all at the same time. It was magical.

A great success! Location was excellent and the patio particularly charming. Host was very hospitable. Bed extremely comfortable.

We had a great stay in San Clemente. The location is unbelievable, right across from the beach. I loved the original character of the unit and the charming communal areas of the building. We were incredibly sad to leave and would absolutely stay again.

“I vision a place where people can live together more pleasantly than any other place in America. I am going to build a beautiful city on the ocean, where the whole city is a park. The architecture will be of one type, and homes will be built on sites where nearly everyone will have their view preserved forever. The whole picture is very clear to me. I can see hundreds of white walled homes bonneted with red tile with trees, palms, and flowers lining the drives. I can see sidewalks of red Spanish tile and streets curving picturesquely over the land. I want plazas, playgrounds, a school, a pool, a golf course, a fishing pier and a beach enlivened with people getting a healthy joy out of life.”

— Ole Hanson, founder of San Clemente, 1925
